It is a local food that has been around since the Edo period.It is mede by grating wild yam and putting it on barley rice.This area was once Mariko-shuku,a post town on the Tokaido road.

Green Tea

Shizuoka has tea fields spread over a wide area.It has a moderate bitterness and is very delicious.

Oiwake Yokan

Yokan is a traditional Japanese sweet.It is red beans paste.This is a sweet that has been around since the Edo period.
