Hikone Castle
Hikone Castle is a national treasure.It was built by Naotaka Ii during the Edo period.The castle remains to this day.
Hieizan Enryaku-ji
It was built in 788 by Saicho in the direction of the demon gate of Heiankyo. Heiankyo is Kyoto, the old capital of Japan. Enryakuji Temple is not a single temple. It is a general term for 100 temples in three areas. It is included in the cultural assets of ancient Kyoto, so it will be a world heritage site.
Chomei-ji
This is an old temple that dates back to 800 AD.
Hyakusai-ji
The temple was built in 606 at the request of Prince Shotoku.The autumn leaves here are beautiful.
Kongorin-ji
This is an old temple that dates back to 741.The main hall is a national treasure.
Keisoku-ji
This is an old temple founded in 735 by the monk Gyoki. There is a small shrine at the top of the stone steps. Although there is no Buddha here, the locals protect the scenery, and many people visit as a famous spot for autumn leaves.
Chikubu Island
Chikubu island is an uninhabited island with a circumference of 2 kirometers, floating in the northern part of Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture.The island can be reached by regular boat. Boats depart from three ports: Nagahama Port and Hikone Port on the east side of Lake Biwa, and Imazu Port on the west side.
The island features national treasure buildings and long corridors.

This is one of the buildings at Mangetsuji Temple.It was built by the monk Genshin for the safety of Lake Biwa.
Avenue of Metasequoia Trees
This is a road lined with metasequoia trees in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture. It was planted for the maintenance of this area. There are 500 trees on 2400 yard of road. You can see fresh greenery in spring and summer, yellow in autumn, and snowy scenery in winter. It is a popular tourist destination. There are restaurants and shops nearby.
Biwako Valley
You can get to the top of the mountain by ropeway.There is a cafe terrace at the top of the mountain.The views are amazing.
