Gifu Prefecture is located in the center of Japan,and although it is not a big city, it is a peaceful place. I knew that it was difficult to access,so I went sightseeing by car.It snows from December to March, and there is atmosphere. It has a history of hot springs, world heritage buildings,andcastle.There are some dishes that you must try when you visit Gifu Prefecture.

2. Monet’s pond is amazing.

3. Shirakawa‐go is a must-visit place

Gassho-style villages. It became a World Heritage Site in 1995. Gassho-zukuri is a house with a thatched roof.You can actually tour the building.

This area is covered with snow in winter.The scenery is great,but it’s cold.It snows in this area,so dress warmly in winter.

If you came here,please eat soba.There are several restaurants.

4. Walking around the castle town

You can see the old townscape of the castle town.Japanese people go sjghtseeing on weekends.There are many people. Takayama Jinya Ruins is a building built by the Edo Shogunate for management.You can tour inside the building.

This area is famous for Takayama ramen. It’s soy sauce remen. It was delicious.

5. Walking around the 100 famous mountain castles

Iwamura Castle and Naegi Castle are mountain castles. It has been selected as one of Japan’s 100 most famous castles.If you like history,this is the place to go.

6. Travel back in time to the Edo period in a post town

Magome-juku is a famous post town. It is a famous tourist destination listed in foreign guidebooks.If you come here, please eat soba.The soba restaurant called Keiseian is delicious.
