What is a goshuin?It is a stamp that proves you have visited a shrine or temples.There are many different types of stamp rallies in Japan.I would now like to talk about the pilgrimage to the 33 Saigoku temples in the Kansai region. Kawasaki Daishi Temple

It was built in 1128.Kobo Daishi,the founder of Shingon Buddhism,is enshrined here.This temple is famous for warding off evil spirits.Because it is a famous temple,there are many visitors.Daruma dolls and candy are famous products here.It is a 40-minute train ride from Tokyo Station. Musashi Kokubunji Temple

In the 700s,this area was the center of politics.It was built at the request of Emperor Shomu.Only a few buildings remain.There is a building that once burned down and was rebuilt in the Edo period.Access is one hour by train from Tokyo Station.This tourist place has no restaurants or cafes.It’s a quiet residential area now.See the bottom of the site for the map.

Tokuganji Temple

It used to be a small temples,but during the Edo period,Tokugawa Ieyasu enlarged the temple.You can ring the bell on New Year’s Eve at this temple.Access is 30 minutes by train from Tokyo Station.It is believed by people in this area.I walked around this area and thought there were many temples.Why?This place is surrounded by rivers.In the past,this area was prosperous as a salt farm.

Sunosaki Shrine

It has a long history,and Minamoto no Yoritomo prayed here and won against the Heike.If the weather is good,you can see the wonderful sea and Mt.Fuji.But this place is very far away.It is 3 hours by train from Tokyo Station.It’s far away,but there weren’t many tourists and I was able to take my time to see it.

Katsushika Hachimangu Shrine

This shrine was built around 880 at the request of Emperor Uda.Minamoto no Yoritomo visited the shrine to pray for good forture.This place is 30 minutes by train fron Tokyo Station.There are no big buildings here,but the nearest station is busy.I found out about this shrine on Google Maps.Although it is not a large shrine,local people visit it.The ginkgo tree.which is a naturel monument,is over 1300 years old.I think humans are small.

Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple

This temple enshrines a Buddha statue called Fudo Myoo brought from Kyoto in 940.It is one of the very famous temples in Japan.There are many buildings in a very large area.The Ichikawa family of Kabuki actors worship this temple.Ten million worshipers come here.I was surprised at the size of this temple.I think shoes that are easy to walk on are good.Access is 30 minutes from Narita Airport.It’s an hour and a harf from Tokyo Station. I put my hands together to express my gratitude. There are 1000 books containing Buddha’s teachings. There are 36 Buddha statues of children.Can you see? I had a hard time seaching.

Fukagawa Fudo-do Temple

This temple is part of the same family as Naritasan Shinshoji Temple in Chiba Prefecture.It was built here in 1703 because Chiba Prefecture is far away.Buddha’s words are designed on the wall of the main hall.It is a modern temple.You can enter the main hall freely.Please take a look inside.Access:15 minutes by 3 stops from Tokyo Station. Many clams were caught in this area during the Edo period.There is a dish in which clams and rice are cooked.It is a local dish called Fukagawa Meshi.

Anamori Inari Shrine in Tokyo

This shrine is a 20-minute train ride from Haneda Airport.It used to be in the airport but moved here.It is a shrine for aviation safety and travel safety. What is that rocky mountain in the background?I was passing by this area and stopped by. If you pass through the torii tunnel, you will find Mt.Inari,which you can climb. I was surprised by the number of fox statues and torii gates.I charged my power.
